Quantum Optics (Introductory)

The purpose of this course is to get the students known with the basic aspects of Quantum Optics: the quantum dynamics of photons and atoms and their interactions. To bring them, more or less, into life we also work on their simulation. For this purpose, QuTiP (Quantum Toolbox in Python) is used.

  • Introductory Quantum Optics [by Gerry and Knight]
  • Quantum Optics: An Introduction [by Fox]
  • Quantum Optics [by Scully and Zubairy] (this one is advanced and only recommended for further reading)

The lectures are mainly based on the first one:

*Important: How to Install Your QuTiP.
*Resources: Useful Links and Information on QuTiP.

  • Quantum Mechanics I
  • Quantum Mechanics II
  • Optics
